Automated FEA for energy absorber

Energy absorbers reduce the risk of injury to occupants in the event of an accident. The design of energy absorbers according to regulations (FMVSS201u) follows only a few principal concepts. However, manual modelling can be time consuming and slows down CAD to CAE iterations. An automated and parametric workflow creates the absorber structure between two boundary surfaces and converts the CAD to a runnable LS-Dyna FE crash model. A connected DOE Optimization can improve and speed up the design development in early stages.
